The Islam people used to live by the belief that god made man and woman equal and both should have the right to inheritance, the right to vote, the right to work, and even choose their own partners in marriage. For centuries now the Islamic women have had these rights taken away by the government and even by their own husbands, fathers, and brothers. These women cannot work, seek medical help from a male doctor, leave the house without a male escort, and are forced to cover themselves from head to toe and even their eyes. The exclusion of such rights in these women’s lives has made their lives intolerable. To women in Afghanistan such rights ,that we take for granted, are out of reach do to their unjust communities.

This event is an example of a social injustice. By taking away the women’s basic rights they are being unfair to all females, and taking preference in males. The fact that males can have an affair and not be punished in any way is really not respecting the fact that the woman has to be shown respect as much as the man. If a woman is caught committing adultery then she is severely punished, which really shows an injustice.The government doesn’t even try to help these women because they allow this kind of treatment.

For a the past centuries women in Afghanistan had not even been given basic human rights, making their lives intolerable. Now that the Islam’s are not under the Taliban power the new government is putting in place new rights for women and taking out some of the old rules away:

1. An end to Islamic rule and the establishment of a secular government;

2. Complete and immediate abolishment of sexual apartheid;

3. The immediate abolishment of compulsory veiling. The recognition of freedom of dress;

4. Prohibition of torture, execution, lashing, retribution and other Islamic punishments;

5. Equality of men and women;

6. Recognition of women's civil liberties including the right to work, education, travel and divorce;

7. Recognition of the freedom of activity of women’s rights organizations in Afghanistan.With these new rights ,for the women of Afghanistan, life would be made easier to deal with.
